Bush Magic Adventure Therapy is a nature-based outdoor education and therapeutic program for children aged 0–14 in the Illawarra. Our programs include Little Explorers, Bush School, After School, School Holiday Adventures and our Community Program providing children and families with opportunities to learn, play, explore and build confidence through regular immersion in the natural environment.

We believe that children need more time in nature. By spending their days outdoors observing, exploring and interacting with the natural world, children develop a connection with their environment that can grow into understanding, appreciation and, ultimately, a desire to care for and protect it. We see environmental education as something that happens naturally when children are given the time and freedom to become curious about the world around them. Our programs also harness the well-established benefits of time in nature for children’s mental health, wellbeing, resilience and emotional development.

Many of the children who come to Bush Magic don’t thrive in traditional environments. Through child-led play, positive relationships, healthy risk-taking and real-world experiences, we give children the space to develop confidence, independence, social and emotional skills while discovering what they are capable of. We believe Bush Magic offers children many of the things they need more of for a healthier childhood and a healthier planet – connection, belonging, freedom, curiosity, time in nature and the opportunity to develop a lifelong relationship with the natural world.
